I’ve got an art-showing!
Along with some other local artists!
A lot of people do not know me as a graphic artist, And thats because this art and painting thing is very very new to me.
This is my first showing and I couldn’t be more psyched! Theres several reasons, and this is very relevant: The Artismo Bistro is very punk, and they didn’t even know it or intend it that way.
The best and punkest shit is always like that. And it is very much a DIY effort and embodies a lot of the DIY ethic. They have just moved into a NEW location a couple of blocks down from their old spot in NOTO.
Its in the old Davidson Funeral Home (How punk is THAT!?) 1035 N Kansas Ave. Their grand re-opening is Halloween Night, with multiple artists showing their work and various musical live acts playing. I believe it is free to get in.
I am excited for this new development in Topeka, as it also represents a “new” live music venue that is accessible to the underground. Preston/Black Chamber had done some events at their old location and colabbed with them.
So if you are looking for something to do for Halloween, this is a good option, if for no other reason than to stop by and check it out.
And the next day, first friday, as part of NOTO’s First Fridays art walk etc there will be even more going on. My stuff will be hanging up there through December.
